Excessive Sweating (Hyperhidrosis)

Overactivity of the sweat glands can result in abnormal, excessive sweating in some parts of the body. This is due to the sympathetic nerves continuously sending signals to the sweat glands to produce sweat. Common areas that are involved are the hands and feet, under the arms, scalp or face. Some people may have sweating all over the body too. Treatments include Botulinum injections, tablets, roll-ons or in very severe cases, patients need to see a surgeon for surgery of the involved nerves.
